Jesus in Capernaum
This week’s sermon takes places in Capernaum. I’ve mentioned a few times that Capernaum was the center of Jesus’ ministry. It was a convenient location to travel around Galilee, and it was a busy fishing port with lots of people coming through. But one of the more impressive things about Capernaum is that we know exactly where many of Jesus’ teachings and miracles happened in the town. There are two main locations in Capernaum that Jesus made use of: the synagogue and Peter’s house. Both of those buildings have been excavated, and you can actually go there today.
